Arriving in the UK


You must fill in a landing card (usually handed out on the plane) prior ro reaching passport control. You should carry full details of where you are staying with you and be prepared to answer a few questions by the customs officer about your stay. Make sure you have bank statements to hand as well, so you can demonstrate you have sufficient funds to support yourself during your stay in the UK.

Getting to London from London Airports

Heathrow Airport www.heathrow.co.uk - 5 terminals with regular fast access to London.
Underground Train (The Tube), Heathrow is on the Piccadilly line.
The Heathrow Express www.heathrowexpress.co.uk travels to and from Paddington station every 15 minutes. National Express coaches www.nationalexpress.com run a direct service to and from London’s Victoria station.

Gatwick Airport www.gatwickairport.co.uk  The Gatwick Express www.gatwickexpress.co.uk trains run every 15 minutes and take about 30 minutes to reach London’s Victoria station.

London City Airport www.londoncityairport.com Via the Docklands Light Railway system. The journey takes 10-30 minutes depending on your destination in London.

Luton Airport www.london-luton.com Thameslink trains www.thameslink.co.uk travel to and from London in 35 minutes, departing from King’s Cross Station. Otherwise Greenline coaches www.greenline.co.uk stop at Brent Cross, Finchley Road Station, Baker Street, Marble Arch and Victoria in London.

Stansted Airport www.baa.co.uk  You can reach Stansted via a 45-minute train ride from Liverpool Street station on the Stansted Express www.stanstedexpress.co.uk. Trains depart every 15-30 minutes. National Express www.nationalexpress.com runs coach services between Stansted Airport and Victoria coach station every 15-30 minutes.
